Evaldo Borges

About

Evaldo Borges was born in Belém do Pará, Brazil, in 1976. He began his artistic activity in the early 1990s at the visual arts studio of the Casa da Cultura de Maricá, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In Portugal, he completed a sculpture course at the International Sculpture Centre in Sintra in 2003. From 2003 to 2005 he attended the artistic training course at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon and worked in the studio of master sculptor Francisco Simões, in Sintra, as part of the Parque dos Poetas project in Oeiras.

Since 1998 he has held solo and group exhibitions and residencies, both public and private, in sculpture and painting. He has been collaborating with the Boom Festival since 2014, where he has also embraced the area of bioconstruction through his collaboration with IPEC - Instituto de Permacultura e Ecovilas do Cerrado, Brazil, which has served to broaden the techniques he uses in his work. He is currently developing an artistic residency at Boomland.

In Being Camp, he is hosting two workshops: Wood Sculpture I (from observation to drawing) and Wood Sculpture II (from the second to the third dimension).
